Union Bank of India capitalized on the chances that came their way and overcame ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) SC by a clear 3-1 margin in an Elite (Corporate) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Monday.
Hrishikesh Pandey opened the scoring for Union Bank when he deposited into the net the first goal on the stroke of the half-time whistle. In the second half, Om Arane and Yash Kansara struck one goal each to seal Union Bank’s victory and to collect the full three points. ESIC managed to score a late goal through their hard-working and consistent scorer Egypsio Noronha to reduce the margin of defeat.
Earlier, Companeroes Sports Club played with solid determination and got the better of Sanpada FC by a narrow 2-1 scoreline. Shawn Peter and Kiran Makwana were bang on target with a goal each for Companeroes, while Sanpada FC pulled one back through Nishant Dongre’s efforts.
