Sri Lankan legendary fast bowler Chaminda Vaas shared his vast experience and knowledge and trained with young budding cricketers during the Mumbai Cricket Club’s High Performance Training Camp, which commenced at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana ground on Wednesday.
This camp is being organised by renowned cricket coach, mentor and promoter Jwala Singh, founder of the Jwala Sports Foundation and Mumbai Cricket Club.
Jwala Singh mentioned that Vaas will be sharing his experience with the children for the next four day till May 21. The camp will continue under the guidance of reputed local coaches and former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer will also be interacting with the kids during the camp which will conclude on June 2.
The leading Sri Lankan pacer Vaas inter-acted with the youngsters for almost four hours explaining the finer points of bowling to pick up wickets. He also demonstrated the art on how to bowl different variations of deliveries and provided many useful tips which would certainly benefit the upcoming cricketers.
The 49-year-old Vaas, who was Sri Lanka’s lethal weapon has to his credit claimed 355 Test wickets and 400 ODI wickets and his guidance would certainly help the young bowlers who paid apt attention to the great bowler.
