Central Bank of India showed good understanding and combined well as a unit and went on to hand Western Railway a 4-0 defeat in an Elite (Corporate) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Friday.
Leading the Central Bank’s charge was Srinath Rathod who struck two goals while Mustak Shaikh and Mukesh Rathod added one each to complete the bankers’ victory tally.
Earlier, Goans Sports Association defeated SNFC Offshoots FC by a fighting 3-2 margin in a First Division encounter. For Goans Yash Kasare netted two goals and Mandar Kamble chipped in with one while the losers scored through Shubham Kadam and Mayur Jadhav.
In another match of the same division, India On Track proved too strong for FC Mumbaikars and charged to a fluent 6-1 win. Strikers Mohammed Shaikh and Joyson Chettain both scored twice each while Vishal Rajput and Rayyan Sadguru got one goal each to seal the win while FC Mumbaikars scored one through Sairaj Naidu.
