Central Railway were all charged up and steamrolled past ESIC (Employees State Insurance Corporation) by recording a thumping 8-1 win in an Elite (Corporate) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Tuesday.
The hero of Central Railway’s massive win was striker Zuber Desai who notched up a fine hat-trick while Sajandeep Singh contributed with a brace of goals while teammates Shafeeq P., Chetan Waghela and Shabaz Pathan, all chipped in with one apiece to run away to victory. ESIC managed to score a consolation goal through Chaitana N. efforts.
Earlier, Naval Dockyard and Tata Power shared honours and they were engaged in a thrilling 2-2 draw in a Super Division encounter. Strikers Ganesh Tabib and Ramesh M. scored a goal each for the Naval outfit, while Tata Power scored their goals through Durgesh Sing and Aniket Mohite.
In a First Division match, Fr. Agnel Gymkhana were in prime form and outplayed Classic SC coasting to a facile 6-0 win. Pranay Dhamal and Mayank Kalliandur both scored two goals each while Dhru Mane and Pujit Dubey added one each to seal the big victory.
