India Development Team registered a resounding victory over Singapore by 14 runs in the opening match. In this match, India Development team scored 64 runs in the stipulated 16 overs while India Development won by restricting Singapore to 50 runs in 16 overs.
In the India Development against Singapore match, India Development’s Darshan (21 runs and 3 wickets), Shubham (13 runs and two wickets) and Chetan Shah (12 runs) performed brilliantly while Singapore’s Tamim and Vipul (15 runs and 2 wickets each) It was a strong fight, but the India Development team pulled victory.
The Indian Indoor Sports Foundation (IISF) organized the New Zealand-Asia Cup 2023 Indoor Cricket Tournament in Bangalore with the approval of World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF) at XLR8 Indoor Sports Arena, Hennur Bagalur Main Road, Next to South Asia Bible College, Kothnur, Bangalore, Karnataka 560077 . Along with the host India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, UAE and Singapore have participated in this tournament. Open group and Masters (40+) group teams have participated in this tournament.
In another match, Sri Lanka narrowly defeated India by two runs 69-67. India had to accept defeat in this match which was played under very tight conditions. In another match, New Zealand won a resounding victory over UAE by 42 runs 110-68.
In the evening session, India scored 91 runs to defeat Singapore by 80 runs. Singapore managed to score only 11 runs in 16 overs in this match. Singapore went into a defensive mode as India managed to dismiss Singapore players 14 times (each dismissal reduced 5 runs.) making an impact of 70 runs on the scoreboard. Singapore managed to dismiss 4 players in India’s batting. In this match, India won easily thanks to the performance of Dhanush (14 runs, 4 wickets), Ashik (18 runs, 1 wicket), Namshid (15 runs, 3 wickets) & while Singapore’s Karthik (12 runs, 2 wickets) was remembered by the audience.
The grand opening of the tournament was held today. Tony Watkins President (WICF), Ajay Naik, President (IISF), Milind Punja, Secretary (IISF), J. K. Mahindra, founder (DTDC), Kshitij Vedak, Founder Chairman & Bal Toraskar, Founder Secretary of MahaIndoor Cricket Association and officials and office bearers from indoor cricket were present.
