Rai sparkles in MCC (Red)’s win


Former champions MCC (Red) are back on winning ways as they dethroned second-placed MCC (Yellow) by 68 runs to jump to second spot in the  in   the 8-team MCC Double-Leg  Pro-40 league, played at   Oval Maidan  here Yesterday.

Siddhant Rai’s fine all round show was the highlight MCC (Red)’s win. Rai, who hit up fighting 34 in his side’s score of 179, later excelled with ball, capturing four wickets for 31 runs. He was well supported by Simant Dubey, who bagged three wickets.

Opting to bat,  the former champions, thanks to Avinash Tiwari’s fighting unbeaten 52, hit up 179 before they were allout. But in reply, “Yellow” batters just crumbled for 111 with Rai and Dubey sharing the bowling honours.

In another tie at the adjacent plot,  bottom-placed MCC (Green) thumped MCC (Blue) by 7-wickets
