Mumbai girl Aarohi Varal from suburbs did well to return with golds in the 80m and 50m sprints in the girls under-8 events, while boys from other districts dominated in various age groups the the two-day Maharashtra State Sub-junior Athletics championships, organized by Kolhapur District Athletics Association at Kolhapur held last week. Incidentally, another under-8 girl Raisha Savant clinched gold in the long jump event.
In the under-12 section, Jiveeka Sanagar leapt to gold in the high jump event and Swara Raorne emerged best in the girls under-10 long jump event. Incidentally, apart from Swara, her teammates Hrshita Alaguraja and Sanah Satam too took the silver and bronze medals.
