Mogaveera SC to meet Bombay Fort into final


Mogaveera Sports Club struck twice in the first half and went on to record a 2-0 win against Jaihind Sports Club in a semi-final match of the Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) organized 15th Adv. A.R. Kudrolli Memorial Football Tournament 2022-23 and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan (Churchgate end).

In the second semi-final, Mangalore Blues Sports Club got the better of Bombay Fort Sports Club to set up a clash with Mogaveera in the final.

Mogaveera played positively and confidently from the start and striker Sumedh Kandala scored in the eighth minute to give them the lead. Seven minutes later Royston Veigas netted the second goal as Mogaveera sailed away to victory. Jaihind attackers were a determined lot and tried their best to find the net and get back, but all their efforts went in vain.

Later, Nehal Salian and Aaron Machado scored a goal each to give Mangalore Blues a 2-0 half-time lead. On resumption, Bombay Fort managed to cut the deficit with Pranit Shetty scoring the lone goal, before Raul Almeida struck Mogaveera’s third goal and sealed the win.

Results – Semi-finals: Mogaveera SC 2 (Sumedh Kandala, Royston Veigas) beat Jaihind SC 0.

Mangalore Blues SC 3 (Nehal Salian, Aaron Machado, Raul Almeida) beat Bombay Fort SC 1 (Pranit Shetty).
