Shashank Kumar excelled both with bat and ball to steer MCC (Blue) to victory over former champions MCC (Red) by 73 runs in the 6-team MCC Double-Leg Pro-40 league, played at Oval Maidan here today. It was third successive win for “Blue” to stay unbeaten so far.
Shashank (36), Aman Verma (35) and Sahil Hire (30) helped “Blue” to a fighting totl of 189 off 40 overs. Chasing 190 to win, “Red” were bowled out for 166 with Asais Khan (3/37) and Shashank Kumar (2/8) causing the major damage.
In the other tie at the adjacent plot, MCC (Orange) beat “Green” by 71 runs. However, both are at the bottom of the table.
