A determined Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) produced a solid fighting performance to share honours with Mumbai Knights-JMJ Sports Club in a well-contested Elite Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) and played at the Neville D’Souza turf, Bandra on Tuesday.
Mumbai Knights showed better understanding and called the shots initially and managed to take the lead through Shanon Pereira’s goal in the 17th minute. They doubled the lead with Robert Elangovan scoring the second goal in the 70th minute.
But, the Karnatak outfit were not prepared to give up without putting up a fight and they did well to score twice in the final moments of the match to snatch a deserving draw. Striker Sanchit Singh scored their first goal in the 75th minute and Mohammed Zaid scored the equalizer in the 84th to force a division of two points with Mumbai Knights.
Earlier, D.K. Pharma Sports Club had things much their own way and romped to a fluent 2-0 win against G.M. Sports Club. Zeeshan Akhter scored D.K. Pharma’s first goal in the 13th minute before Eugene Nimako added the second in the 83rd minute to complete the victory.
