Ishika Punjabi, just over 15, beat Prisha Daga 12-10, 11-9, 11-6 in the girls under-15 final and got a walk over from Aarya Satarkar in the under-17, but her bid for a triple was spoiled by Tanvi Chukkal who dropped a game before beating her 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 11-6 in the under-19 event of the Poinsur Gymkhana-Uttar Mumbai Promotional table tennis tournament, held under the aegis of The Suburban Table Tennis Association of Mumbai (TSTTA) here today. The event attracted over 300 boys and girls in the different age group.
While in the boys sections, Santosh Kolapte lost a game aginst Vivan Mohile before he bagged under 19 title. But the toughest tie between Ayush Sonawane and Nilesh Yedge in the under-17 proved to be a thriller before Ayush prevailed at 11-7, 10-12, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8.
