In the 55th National Men’s, Women’s Kho-Kho Tournament, the men’s and women’s teams of Maharashtra got off to a good start by winning the league matches.
This competition is organized by Osmanabad District Kho kho Association with the approval of Indian Kho kho Federation and Maharashtra Kho kho Association. The competition started on Sunday at Tuljabhawani District Sports Complex. In today’s both matches of Maharashtra were played on mats.
In the men’s match, Maharashtra beat Madhya Pradesh by an innings 20-8. In this game, Suyash Gargat displayed an all-round game by defending 2:20 minutes and scoring 5 points. Ramji Kashyap defended for 3:20 minutes, Nihar Duble scored 4 points in his sharp attack. From Madhya Pradesh, Vivek Yadav and Sagar scored 2 points each.
In the women’s match, Maharashtra thrashed Telangana 19-6. Maharashtra’s Priyanka Ingle lays the foundation for victory against Telangana by scoring 7 points. Reshma Rathore (2:10 mins of defense and 4 points) played an all-rounder while Rupali Bade and Dipali Rathore (2:50 mins of defense each) and Apeksha Sutar (2:40 mins of defence) ensured Maharashtra a big win. However, an all-round fight by Telangana’s Krishnamma fell short.
