Football School of India (FSI) rode on the twin strikes from Pravin Kumawat to score a comfortable 4-1 win against Veniza FC in a Super Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League, played at the Cooperage football ground, Colaba on Tuesday.
FSI were fortunate to open their account as Venzia’s Aditya Andhale scored an own goal in the 22nd minute and seven minutes later Shubham Kaslay scored the second goal to double the lead.
Veniza fought back and Andhale made amends scoring the team’s first goal in the 47th minute. But Kumawat sealed FSI’s win with two late goals in the 75th and 89th minutes.
In an absorbing Second Division encounter, Mumbai Strikers got the better of Blitzkrieg FC by a fighting 3-2 margin, at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra. Strikers Divyank Pawar, Hardik Purhoit and Sarvesh Daundkar, all scored a goal each to help Mumbai Strikers snatch a close win, while Blitzkrieg scored through Marshal Chettiar and Qammr Raja.
In another well-contested match of the same division, Franco Aspire FC got the better of SOSMTSS FC by a narrow 2-1 margin. Arvind Yadav and Rohan Mundlekar were bang on target for Franco SC while SOSMTSS FC pulled one back through Inyat Shaikh’s goal.
Results – Second Div: Franco Aspire FC 2 (Arvind Yadav, Rohan Mundlekar) beat SOSMTSS FC 1 (Inyat Shaikh).
Mumbai Strikers 3 (Divyank Pawar, Hardik Purhoit, Sarvesh Daundkar) beat Blitzkrieg FC 2 (Marshal Chettiar, Qammr Raja).
Super Div: Football School of India 4 (Pravin Kumawat 2, Shubham Kaslay, Aditya Andhale-OG) beat Veniza FC 1 (Aditya Andhale).
