Bombay YMCA fought hard and came from behind to overcome ROQS FC by a close 2-1 margin in an exciting Super Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) Yuva President’s League, played at the Neville D’Souza football turf, Bandra on Monday.
ROQS FC against the run of play took the lead with Shashank Yadav finding the back of the YMCA net in the 31st minute. But, eight minutes later YMCA came, roaring back and restored parity through Mohd Umar Khan’s strike and the teams went into the break on level terms at 1-all. On resumption, Zaid Khan scored YMCA’s second goal to seal the win.
Earlier, in a Second Division encounter, Vision Rescue registered an identical 2-1 win against Blitzkrieg FC to collect the full three points. Ashish Solanki and Justin D’Souza were bang on target with a goal each for Vision Rescue, while Dhiresh Patrawala netted the lone goal for the losing team.
Meanwhile, Future Star FC ‘B’ were in prime form and charged to a commanding 7-1 win against Footfun FA (DKM) in another Div-II match. Gajendra Singh and Richard Abraham scored two goals each while Siddhant Shinde, Sujal Shinde and Soham Jagtap struck a goal each to complete the winning margin, while Faisal Shaikh scored Footfun’s consolation goal.

Future Star FC ‘B’ 7 (Gajendra Singh 2, Richard Abraham 2, Siddhant Shinde, Sujal Shinde, Soham Jagtap) beat Footfun FA (DKM) 1 (Faisal Shaikh).
Sporting Options 2 (Soman Pawar, Siddhant Vaity) beat Maurya Foundation 1 (Pratram Bhatkar).
Super Div: Bombay YMCA 2 (Mohd Umar Khan, Zaid Khan) beat ROQS FC 1 (Shashank Yadav).
