Sukhada Lokapure shocks fourth seed Khyati Kuhikar


Sukhada Lokapure hogged the limelight defeating fourth seed Khyati Kuhikar 15-9, 15-8 in 25 minutes in a girls under-15 singles first round match of the Late Shri Kishor Atmaram Palekar Yonex Sunrise Shuttle Craze Maharashtra State Open Sub-Junior Badminton Championship 2022, being organised by Shuttle Craze at the Andheri Sports Complex badminton courts.

In a keenly contested encounter, Suhani Bansal got the better of Priyam Sarma winning in three tough games 14-15, 15-9, 15-9 in 26 minutes. Paridhi Budhwar faced initial problems but managed to settle down and carve out a 15-14, 15-7 victory in 18 minutes.

In the boys under-15 competition, second seed Zayan Kapadia defeated Parthiv Biradar 15-5, 15-11 in 14 minutes to advance to the second round.

In a absorbing contest, Sameep Batheja showed solid determination as he fought back after losing the opening game to put it across  Devansh Rainak winning in three tough games at 9-15, 15-13, and 15-13 in 22 minutes.

In another match that went the distance, Rajvardhan Valsangkar worked hard to overcome Mayuresh Murkumbi 15-11, 12-15, and 15-8 in a match that lasted an exact half hour.
