Defending champions Fleetfooters Football Club struck late form and score three times in the final 10 minutes to hand ND2 SoccerStarz a 4-0 defeat in the 5th Borivali Football League (BFL) – 2022, conducted under the auspices of the Mumbai Football Association, and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi HS ground, Borivali.

SoccerStarz fought gallantly and managed to keep the Fleetfooters attackers under control and foil all their goal-scoring attempts. But midway through the second session, Fleetfooters were awarded a penalty and Umesh Perambra successfully converted to take a 1-0 lead.
Having tasted success, Fleetfooters continued to exert pressure on the rival goal in search of more goals and they managed to score three in the last seven minutes to knock the fight out of their opponents. Merwyn Fernandes, Dhaval Waghela and Ashley Koli netted a goal each to secure the big win.
Ashley Koli of Fleetfooters was later adjudged ‘Man of the Match’.
In another match, Maryland Football Club defeated GM Sports Club 6-4 via the tie-breaker after the scores were locked 2-2 at the end of normal time. Hekmat Singh scored both the goals for Maryland while Utsav Parikh and Joy Banerjee scored a goal each for GM Sports Club. Bunty Dhimaan of GM Sports Club won the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
