Anurag Bagri continued with his impressive winning steak which played a significant role in Elphinstone Cricket Club (ECC) emerging champions of the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra organised Greatwhite Electricals-BSAM Mumbai Snooker League (MSL) 2022 and played at the Dadar Club billiards room.
Potting with a high degree of consistency, Bagri once again shouldered the responsibility by winning both the singles frames which ensured EEC ‘Elfies Stars’ defeat challengers MIG Cricket Club (MIG Sharks) 3-1 in the final and regain the MSL crown.
MIG started with a flourish as their doubles pair of Gaurav Prabhu and Gunmeen Kohli (+24) tamed the ECC duo of Sunil Jain and Vilas Upsham (+18) winning the opening frame 64-46. But, ECC bounced back in style and won the next three frames in succession to dash the aspirations of the MIG cueists.
Bagri (+25) led ECC fighback defeating Anuj Soni (+40) 96-63 in the second frame before Subham Randhe (+35) defeated Prabdeep Singh (+40) 102-74 to extend the lead. Bagri once again underlined his dominance over Soni, defeating him for the second time by marching to a 106-81 point difference victory and trgger celebrations amongst his teammate and supporters.
Results – final: Elphinstone Cricket Club beat MIG Cricket Club 3-1 (Sunil Jain/Vilas Upsham (+18) lost Gaurav Prabhu/Gunmeen Kohli (+24) 46-64, Anurag Bagri (+25) bt Anuj Soni (+40) 96-63, Subham Randhe (+35) bt Prabdeep Singh (+40) 102-74, Anurag Bagri bt Anuj Soni 106-81).
