CCI, MCF to clash in BSAM billiards final


Hosts Cricket Club of India ‘CCI Billiards Boys’ and Mandpeshwar Civic Federation ‘MCF Tough Men’ will clash in the final of the CCI-Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League 2022. The league is being held in memory of Late Kekoo Nicholson, an ardent billiards enthusiast.

Playing on their home tables, former champions CCI Billiards Boys (+110 handicap) outplayed Garware Club House ‘Garware Wildcards’ (+190) by smoothly cruising to a 534-343 margin of victory at the CCI’s Wilson Jones billiards hall late Friday evening.

In the second semi-final, MCF Tough Men (-35) outshone Park Club ‘PCL Beach Boys’ (+30) and stormed to a convincing win by a 444-293 points difference. MCF will be playing in their fourth final in the last six editions, and will hope to win their maiden title.

The highlight of CCI Billiards Boys win was the 65-point break compiled by Hasan Badami (-20) during his comfortable 200-68 points victory against Bhavesh Jain (+55) in the second frame. Earlier, Satbir Narula (+50) defeated Tarun Singhania (+70) 200-76 to give CCI a solid start. Those big wins gave CCI a huge advantage as Giriraj Ganglani (+80) had to score just 24 points against Suvir Shah (+65) who had to score 200 points in the third frame. Ganglani easily completed the formalities.

Meanwhile, MCF Tough Men’s dependable cueists Chandu Kasodaria and Rohan Jambusaria once again played the lead roles winning the opening two frames and the third member of their team Akshay Gogri was left to score just 79 points against Amit Sapru. Gogri scored the required points to secure MCF’s victory.
