‘Markar’ Manoj Kasare did Khar Gymkhana proud by making short work of Parag Paithanklar 3-0 to storm into third qualifying round in the best of five-frames of the “The Yasin Merchant Snooker Challenge-2022”, held in memory of their ex-president Mr Shyam Shroff, at Khar Gymkhana here today.
Parag, who earlier had beaten Shubojit Roy 3-1 in the opening lround, just wilted under Manoj’s onslaught as the Khar Gymkhana player gave him no respite, romping home to 51-23, 68-42, 55-41 win and inches closer to making the main draw.
Yash Babani down 0-2, fought back to beat Rishikesh Yadav 26-39; 39-71, 73-18, 52-41, 61-16 to advance to the next round. Also advancing was Sunil Jain, who in a ding dong fight prevailed over Amarkeep Bharaj Bharaj 76-8, 50-45, 16-65, 49-53, 84-1. Santosh Mane was another player who notched up a come from behind win over Gaurav Vithalani 29-50, 19-51, 53-20,67-40, 65-45.
