Khar Gymkhana’s Jaiveer Motiwani, with three golds, including one record-breaking effort yesterday, pipped Ronak Sawant, of Glenmark Aqua Foundation, who won five golds (but no records) to be crowned as ‘the best swimmer’ in the boys under-15-17 category on the concluding day of the GMAAA junior and sub-junior swimming championships, held at Celebration Club swimming pool at Lokhandwala, Andheri (West) here today. The corresponding girls top prize went to Aanya Walia, of Otters – Dolphin), who bagged five golds, including one new meet record.

However, the final day’s honour for setting new marks went to Anvi Deshwal, of Otters Club and Aanika Bhatia, of GAF-Goregaon Sports Club. Anvi pipped her twin sister Saanvi in the 100m back stroke event in Girls Group III (10-11 years) category. While Aanika Bhatia, also of GAF-Goregaon Sports Club breasted the tape ahead of Anvi in the200m free style event in the same section.
