WIFA Inter-District Girl’s Under-17 football tournament
Opportunistic goal-scorer Bindiya Verma was in excellent scoring form and scored a double hat-trick in guiding Palghar DFA to a convincing 9-0 win against Amravati DFA in a first round match of the WIFA Inter-District Girl’s Under-17 football tournament, played at the Minatai Thakare Stadium, Nashik on Thursday.

Shruti Waghela netted two goals and Sania Khan got one for the Palghar girls who dominated the match from the start and enjoyed a 6-0 half-time advantage.
In another match which was closely contested, Satara DFA pulled off a narrow 1-0 win against Raigad DFA with striker Pari Ghorpade slotting home the lone goal of the match.
In the third match, Yavatmal DFA scored through Srushti Suryawanshi, Vaishnavi Tawde, and Prerna Meshram and went on to defeat Ahmednagar DFA 3-0.
In a late Thursday evening match, Ratnagiri DFA defeated Nagpur DFA 5-4.

Ratnagiri DFA 5 (Saniya Yadav, Antra Dhurway, Tisya Chugh, Gorgi Golvankar, Samidha Kshirsagar) beat Nagpur DFA 4 (Mahak Shaikh, Vinanti Pendam, Nupoor Gajbhiye, Riddhi Gopalani).
