Garware Club House sets up football coaching academy


The Garware Club House, formed in 1974, for the first-time ever, has decided to promote the world’s the most popular sport, football. The popular South Mumbai club, has set up the GCH Football Academy, which will be launched at the Cooperage Football Stadium, on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

The GCH Football Academy will train boys and girls above 5-years of age and the coaching sessions will commence at 7.00 am on Saturday.

This initiative is the brainchild of Nitin Dalal, Chairman, cricket and sports sub-committee, GCH. Dalal had earlier served the Mumbai Cricket Association for over 20 years as secretary, manager and treasurer of the cricket association.

Dalal had earlier taken the initiative of starting coaching programs in badminton, squash, and swimming to name a few at the club.

The football trainees will be under the guidance and supervision of a team of Certified Coaches who would impart extensive coaching methods so that the kids learn the basics, improve their skills and build on their fitness.

The outstanding and talented trainees will be selected to represent the GCH team which will participate in domestic football tournaments in the city.

The GCH was earlier known as the BCA Garware club house, known for its cricket in Mumbai. This club was initiated

and formed by the great Shri S.N. Wankhade along with the industrialist Shri Abasaheb Garware thus deriving its name Garware Club House. Garware Club House which was once a part of the Bombay Cricket Association.
