Over 200 boys from all over India (in various age groups) are participating in the ‘Center of excellence for Cricket’ coaching camp organised by by Jwala sports foundation. The camp was inaugurated by former star India opener Wasim Jaffer on Tuesday at Oval Maidan, followed by at Air India Sports Club.
Former Srilankan legendary fast bowler Chaminda Vaas will join the camp next week.
Chaminda Vaas and Wasim Jaffer , will be assisted by former Mumbai Ranji Trophy coach Vinayak Samant, Jwala Singh , Rajesh Pawar and Santosh Shinde. Rahil Shaikh and ex- NIS head coach Danish Bagshi will also be sharing their expertise with the trainees.
While giving pep talk to the trainees, including Divyansh Sexena, who was part of India Under 19 team in 2020 where he scored impressive 69 runes against Pakistan in semis; Wasim expressed satisfaction and was impressed with the players practising with MCC Academy during the camp. Wasim also had a special word of praise for Divansh, who recently scored 100 in CK Naidu trophy.
Wasim emphasized the importance of basics skill and also mental toughness. Players of all group are divided in to 12 groups as per age and skill accorcampding to Jwala Singh, director of ‘Center Of Excellence For Cricket’ Coaching Camp’.
