Ronil match figure of 9/34 inspires Badlapur to big win


Ronil Jhanjani’s inspirational match-winning bowling figures of 9 wickets for 34 (4 for 23 & 5 for 11) was the highlight of Badlapur Centre’s massive win against Kalyan Centre by an innings and 182 runs on the second day of their first round match of the 25th Ajit Naik Memorial Under-14 selection trials cricket tournament 2022, organised by WSC under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Rainbow ground, Badlapur. For his splendid bowling efforts, Ronil was later declared as the ‘Player of the Match’.

In another match, played at the KDMC ground, Kalyan, Thane Centre powered by the century knocks from Smin Kini 133 runs and Samridh Bhat 101 runs managed to win against Dombivali Centre on the basis of the first innings lead.

Kalyan Centre batting first were bowled out for 99 runs in 32.3 overs in their first innings. Ronil got 4 wickets, while Himanshu Singh 3 for 19 and Jayesh Mhaskar 2 for 21 claimed the remaining wickets. Later, the Badlapur batsmen dominated the Kalyan bowling attack and declared their first innings at 367 runs for 6 in 94.4 overs. Vansh Chumble 84 runs, Deven Yadav 75 runs, Mayur Wadhwani 58 runs, and Aakash Mangde 53 runs lifted the Badlapur total, while Kalyan successful bowlers were Meet S. 2 for 47 and Shaurya Takle 2 for 81. The Kalyan batsmen again flopped in the second essay and were dismissed for just 86 runs. Ronil claimed a 5 for and Ronil Aayush Surve grabbed 3 for 11 to complete Badlapur’s win.
