Park Club cueist Vishal Gehani and Sanjeev Bijlani played quite consistently and won their respective group matches in the SPG-PCL Billiards Tournament 2022, and played at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana and Park Club billiards halls.
In a Group-F match, Gehani rolled in 5 substantial breaks of 88, 61, 52, 43, and 31 points and went on to defeat SPG’s Deependra Pinkyar by a 405-91 scoreline.
Bijalani was also in good form and compiled breaks of 39, 36, 34, and 31 to record a comfortable 301-136 points victory against Sandeep Teli of Hindu Gymkhana in a Group-F encounter.
Meanwhile, Amit Sapru also from Park Club encountered mixed fortunes in Group-H matches. Sapru held his nerves to get the better of Sagar Desai of NSCI 198(33)-193(38) in the first match. But, he was unable to sustain the winning momentum and narrowly lost the second match, going down fighting against Chembur Gymkhana’s Nikhil Lalwani by a narrow 201-189 points margin.
In another Group-F match, Mahesh Jagdale of ECC made a century break of 107 and 33 and charged to a 327-65 win against Ameya Pagnis of Santacruz Gymkhana.
