Ankush Paswan’s double century (200 with 13×4, 12×6) in defending champions MCC (Red)’s score of 291 highlighted their stupendous 112 runs win over MCC (Yellow) by 112 runs to inflict first defeat on the table topper in the 6-team MCC Double-Leg Pro-40 league, played at Oval Maidan here today. With today’s win “Red” are back in contention after their forgettable first leg, having earlier beaten second-placed “Green” and defeated Jwala Sports Foundation respectively.
What was remarkable feature of their today’s win, was that next best to Ankush was for the “Red” was Rishabh Kumar (2). Batting single-handedly till the end, he was run out of the last ball of their 40th over. So far Ankush has scored 531 runs in the league.
In their earlier win “Red” were bundled out for 114 against l”Green”. But their bowlers hit back and shot out “Green” for 83 with Vaibhav Singh (3/27) and Ankush Paswan (2/24) sharing the spoils.
