Thanks to fine all round show by Ankush Paswan ,defending champions MCC (Red) at last came into their own to beat second placed MCC (Green) by 31 runs in the return leg of the 6-team MCC Double-Leg Pro-40 league, played at Oval Maidan here today. “Red”, who finished the first leg at the bottom with just a solitary win, thus recorded their second win, to stay in contention. But for “Green”, however they continue to stay at second place with four wins out of six.
The highlight of the MCC (Red)’s win was Ankush’s aggressive 52 with 10 fours while the rest of the batters failed against medium pacer Adarsh Singh, who bagged five for 32 as “Red” were bundled out for 114. But their bowlers hit back and shot out “Green” for 83 with Vaibhav Singh (3/27) and Ankush Paswan (2/24) sharing the spoils.
