Mr. Sudhir Joshi former Mayor of Mumbai and Ex Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra passed away today. He was 81. Popularly known as Sudhirbhai, he was the most trusted soft spoken leader of Shiv Sena and was very close to Late Balasaheb Thackeray for three decades, till he retired from active politics in 1999.

A Science graduate of Mumbai University , Mr. Joshi who served as a Municipal Corporator initially, was elected as the youngest Mayor of Mumbai at the age of 33 in 1973. Later, he headed the Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti a wing of Shiv Sena to ensure jobs to sons of soil. In the first BJP- SS Government in Maharashtra he served as a cabinet minister.
Mr. Joshi was treated for Corona last month in Jaslok hospital and returned home after recovery. However, during the past few days his condition worsened and today he breathed his last.
