The Mumbai Football Association (MFA) will hold a condolence meeting to pay homage and tributes to footballers, officials and football administrators, and club owners at the Cooperage football ground on Tuesday, January 18 at 5.00 pm.
Respect will be paid to S.S. ‘Babu’ Narayan (died August 5, 2021), a two-time Olympian and former Maharashtra & ICL and Tata SC goalkeeper, Cdr. Kehar Singh (died March 17, 2020), founder member and ex-President MDFA, Executive Committee member WIFA, John Alphonso (died April 17, 2021), a former striker who represented India, Maharashtra, Mafatlal SC, Tata SC, and other major clubs, Hugh Fernandes (died May 10, 2021), an MDFA Executive Managing Committee member and club owner, Salim Ansari and Suresh Banjan, former RBI players and MDFA Executive Committee Members, Madhav G. Suvarna (died January 6, 2022), a former FIFA Referee, AFC referee instructor, and AFC & AIFF match commissioner.
The meeting will remember the efforts and contributions made by these stalwarts towards the promotion and development of football in Bombay, now Mumbai over the years.
All football players, coaches, team owners, and enthusiasts who wish to pay respect to them are requested to attend the meeting.
