Revati Kokare nets hat-trick in Amma FC’s 7-0 win


Revati Kokare notched a fine hat-trick which was the highlight of Nagpur outfit Amma FC’s comfortable 7-0 win against Next Sports Academy, Palghar in a seventh-round match of the WIFA Women’s Football League played at the Cooperage Football ground on Saturday morning. This is the qualifying tournament, for the AIFF Indian Women’s Football League 2021-2022.

The others who contributed towards Amma FC’s win were Rhea D’Costa who scored twice while Florian Pereira and Punam Kumari scored one each to seal the win.

Later in the evening, Vaishnavi Sonune who replaced Dnyaneshwari Madake in the 40th minute scored at the death to help Krida Prabodhini snatch a tense 1-0 win against India Rush, Mumbai, and pick up the three points.

 

The Nagpur team called the shots from the start against the younger and inexperienced opponents from Palghar forged ahead through Revati’s strike in the 12th minute.

Rhea who came in for Rakshanda Sonekar in the 30th minute immediately made her presence felt scoring the team’s second goal in the 33rd minute. Six minutes later, Revati netted her second goal to increase the lead before Florian scored on the stroke of the half-time whistle to give Amma FC a 4-0 cushion.

 

After the change of ends, the Nagpur girls continued to hold sway and Revati added another goal to complete her hat-trick and swell the lead to 5-0. Amma FC slammed home two quick goals in the final 10 minutes through Rhea in the 81st minute and Punam in the 82nd minute round off the winning margin.

 

Results – seventh round: Amma FC, Nagpur 7 (Revati Kokare 3, Rhea D’Costa 2, Florian Pereira, Punam Kumari) beat Next Sports Academy, Palghar 0.

Krida Prabodhini, Pune 1 (Vaishnavi Sonune) beat India Rush, Mumbai 0.
