Siddu Pawar hat-trick powers Udaya SC into final

 Udaya Sports Club riding on the brilliance of striker Siddu Pawar who notched up a hat-trick of goals charged past Satya Vijaya Sports Club recording a 4-1 win in a semi-final encounter of the Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) organized 14th Adv. A.R. Kudrolli Memorial knockout football tournament 2021-2022 and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan. Tanishq Shetty scored the fourth goal for the winners, while Reuel Kundar scored the consolation goal for the losing side.

 

 

In the final, Udaya will clash with Jaihind Sports Club who managed to defeat arch-rival Star of Canara Sports Club by a narrow 2-1 margin in the first semi-final.

 

 

The opportunistic Pawar soon after kick-off opened the scoring to give Udaya an early lead. The dashing striker showed excellent finishing touch and seven minutes later netted the second goal to put his team in a commanding position with a 2-0 half-time advantage.

 

 

On resumption, Pawar continued to press forward and was rewarded with another goal to complete his hat-trick and help Udaya take a solid 3-0 lead.

 

 

Satya Vijaya fought on gamely and made some valiant effort to reduce the margin and their efforts finally bore fruits when Reuel Kundar found the target late in the game. But, Udaya sealed their impressive win with Tanishq Shetty firing home the fourth goal in the final minutes of the match.

 

 

Earlier, last year’s runners-up Jaihind and Star of Canara were engaged in a keen tussle and there was plenty of excitement throughout the match. Jaihind took an early through Shrinath Rathod’s goal in the 11th minute before Raju Chauhan doubled their lead with the second goal in the 24th minute and went into the break with a 2-0 cushion.

 

 

After changing ends, Star of Canara managed to reduce the margin through Rolden Castelino’s strike in the opening minute of the second period. Star of Canara mounted the pressure to try and equalize, but Jaihind defence stood firm to thwart all their efforts and emerge winners and book their place in the final.

 

Results – semi-finals: Udaya SC 4 (Siddu Pawar 3, Tanishq Shetty) beat Satya Vijaya SC 1 (Reuel Kundar).

Jaihind SC 2 (Shrinath Rathod, Raju Chauhan) beat Star of Canara SC 1 (Rolden Castelino).
