State Kho Kho Championship begins


With the approval of Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association and Solapur Amyachur Kho Kho Association, the 57th  Men’s & Women’s State Championship & Selection Test Kho-Kho Competition started at Solapur. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shrimant Sanjeevraje Naik Nimbalkar President of  Maharashtra Kho-Kho Association along with prominent presence of the ceremony the honorable Minister Shri Dattatreya Bharane (Mama).

On this occasion  Prof. Dr.  Chandrajit Jadhav joint secretary of KKFI , Maharashtra Kho Kho Association of Sachin godbole – Executive , Mahesh Gadekar – Vice President, Govind Sharma – General Secretary, Adv. Arun Deshmukh – Treasurer were present.

 

In this tournament top 16 men and 16 women teams were selected from league format to play in knockout format.  The teams of Maharashtra’s men  & women  will be selected for 54th National championship which will be held at Jabalpur, in Madhya Pradesh.

 

In today’s men’s group match, Ahmednagar defeated Sindhudurg by an innings 18-6. Akash Dhole scored 4 points and defended for 3.20 minutes. Avej Pathan defended for 2.50 minutes.  Ahmednagar did not give any chance to Sindhudurg players to shine.

 

In the second match, eventual winners Mumbai Suburbs beat Beed 23-12. Akshay Bhangre took 5 wickets and remained unbeaten for 1.10 minutes. Aniket Pote   ( 2.50 and 2.10 minutes and 2 points) played an all-round game. Tukaram Karade   ( 3 points) from Beed gave a lone fight.

 

In the women’s category, Solapur beat Dhule 22-3 by a landslide. Shivani yendravakara the attack on your dharadhara 8 wickets getting the all-round performance with an unbeaten 2.00 minutes. Preeti Kale and Archana Vanmane defended unbeaten for 4.50 and 4.10 minutes respectively. Sandhya Suravase dismissed 6 players.

 

In the second match, Osmanabad beat Palghar 15-6. It Ashwini  Shinde (3.50 minutes and 4 wickets ) , Sampada More (3.00 minutes and 5 wickets ) , Kiran Shinde (2.30 minutes and scored 2 wickets made) by all-round performance. From Palaghara krpeksha Maher  ( 1.10 minutes and 1 victim ) was played good.

 

Results of other matches:

Men: Pune beat Nandurbar won 19-10 by an innings, Sangli beat Jalgaon won 27-9 by an innings, Thane beat. Ratnagiri won 25-11 by an innings.

 

Women: Ratnagiri beat Raigad won 29-8 by an innings , Pune beat Nashik won 13-11 with 5 minutes to spare , Thane beat Jalna won 21-8 by an innings .
