Prabhu Jolly Cricketers handed Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana a six-wicket thrashing in the opening round of the Madhav Mantri memorial cricket tournament, played at Dadar Parsee Club (Matunga). The 40-over match was reduced to 34 overs due to wet conditions of the pitch.

Prabhu Jolly Cricketers after winning the toss, put Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana to bat. With wet conditions of the pitch, the pace and spin combination of Rahil Shaikih and Adarsh Singh alongwith offspinner Nishant Trivedi proved too much for the Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana as their top batters . were back in the tent for just for 65. It was the determined batting of lower order Vedant Patel, Abhay Patil and Anzar Mirza, which helped them to reach 169 before they were all out.
However, as the pitch dried up, batting became easier for the Prabhu Jolly outfit as opener Arbaaz Shaikh (*82) and Anuj Giri (36) took them home with six wickets in hand.
