Due to the present spread of coronavirus all over the world, people from different parts of the world have blamed China. Though they have denied these allegations, the Chinese are better known for their aggression at the Ladakh border on the LAC and we witnessed their cruelty at the Galwan valley in the month of June. Once again on the night of 29th and 30th August there was provocative movement by Chinese PLA. But, the Indian army took quick measures and the Chinese attempt was thwarted. Despite talks being held at the top level army officers from both the sides and also at the external affairs ministry level in Russia, this kind of aggression continues from the Chinese on the border. There are repeated intrusions by Chinese PLA at Eastern Ladakh.
After banning some Chinese apps , for security reasons; some more action is also expected from our Government to teach China a lesson. Now, the latest news is that the Ministry of Information and Technology has banned more Chinese apps including popular PUBG Mobile in the country. This time the government has banned 118 China-based apps. Moreover, sponsorship from Chinese companies is also disallowed in many events.
Now, a lot is expected from people of India. China has already suffered a big loss this season, as the festival of Holi and Ganapati festival could not be celebrated on a mass scale due to spread of Covid pandemic and restrictions imposed by the government. So, even those shopkeepers and Online services could not sell their old Chinese goods stock during this period. The same thing may happen during Diwali. But, people on their own should ensure that they don’t buy Chinese products, especially the Chinese firecrackers.
Today, on the social media, many marketing agencies are selling useful goods at discount rate. They don’t mention the make of these products and customers come to know about the brand, only when the goods are delivered to them. This is a new trick applied by the online marketing agencies. Now, so much of awareness has been spread by media, to say ‘No’ to Chinese brands. And therefore, while buying goods from super markets, Shopping Malls and Stationery shops and toy/ Gift shops, people look for the ‘make’ mark. Recently, Our Hon. Prime Minister has already encouraged ‘Make in India’ Toys, which clearly indicates that our people should buy Indian toys and people into manufacture of Indian Toys be encouraged.
However, no one has paid attention to sports goods sold in sports shops and Big Shopping malls. Now, as we have our own ‘Made in India’ brands in mobile phones, electronics, toys and household items, we also have our best Indian brands in Sports goods. But, till six months back we saw many of our Indian sports lovers using Chinese goods . In the game of table tennis, it was more commonly seen. The Made in China Table Tennis Tables, Nets, Balls , TT bats, TT rubbers , Bat Covers, shoes, Shorts, T Shirts, track suits, socks, kit bags, Gym equipments are in use in India . Not only table tennis goods, but the other sports goods which are cheap compared to our own brands, were openly sold by sports dealers at shops and online, thus benefitting the enemy country.
What is the general feeling among the people of India is that they don’ trust the Chinese Government and their army. They are known for breaking the past agreements, with their attitude of making an attempt to grab other’s territories. This has been happening for a long time. But, the India of 2020 turned out to be assertive and ready to counter attack not only with their Defence services but also putting a ban on their products. Now, even the Chinese companies have been prevented from applying for tenders in road construction business.
The movement to say ‘No’ to china products is already on the social media and sports related groups. In the Table tennis group , a Former International and National Veterans Champion has already expressed his frank views to ban Chinese players in invitational competitions. And others have supported him on the debate. It may be recalled that in some of the invitational international level tournaments Chinese players are invited . We often see Chinese coaches training our Indian players. Sports shops are stacked with equipments made in China. So, the money goes to China. And now it is clear that they are using this money earned in India against us for buying arms to fight our soldiers. It is high time, we need to seriously look into this aspect to teach a lesson to China for their aggression on the Indo-China border. Just can’t trust them any more. Therefore boycott on their products is the best way to teach them a lesson.
