Navroz Cricket Club maintained their unbeaten run, by beating MCC ‘A’ by 5 wickets to top the 4-team MCC Under-19 Super League tie, played at Oval Maidan here today. Navroz CC earlier had beaten Mane CA and MCC ‘B’ convincingly.
The highlight of Navroz CC’s win was the fine bowling by Farhan Shaikh, who captured four wickets for 24 runs. He got good support from Atharva Karade(2/17), Bhushan Talawadekar (2/19) as MCC ‘A’ were bowled out for 146. In reply, Navruz CC batsmen chased down the target for the loss of five wickets.
While in their concluding tie, Mane Cricket Academy outplayed hosts MCC’s junior string by 10 wickets for their first win. However, their today’s win proved to be just a consolation one as they have already lost to Navroz C.C. and MCC ‘A’ .
Batting first, MCC ‘B’ batsmen floundered right from the start and were bowled out for 94. Hardik Yadav (4/17) and Ardhya Shindde 93/17) shared the spoils. In reply, Mane CA openers Dishan Rane (44 n.o.)and Yash Salunkhe (42 n.o.) made light of the target and were home with ease.
