Defending champions Swami Viveknand from Borivali, thanks to century by Aayush Vartak and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who missed century by four runs, steamrolled Gokuldham (Goregaon) by 237 runs win over to enter the semifinals of the the B.Khichadia-Khar Gymkhana Suburban Schools Under-16 Cricket Tournament here today.
Batting first, the Swami Vivekanand batsmen hammered Gokuldham attack all over the park to rattle up 320 for five in the allotted 40 overs with Aayush hitting up 140, while Angkrish just missing the century by four runs. In reply, Gokuldham were bundled out for paltry 83 with Advait Lotlikar capturing four wickets for just 33 runs.
In the other quarterfinal ties, Bandra’s Rizvi Springfield withcentury by Roshan Kanojia and near century by Shriyansh, defeated Kandivali’s Swami Vivekanand side by 39 runs. While IES BNew English (Bandra) handed Parle Tilak (English) an eight wicket defeat and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, gave a surprise to their supporters by beating Parle Tilak (Marathi) by 10 wkts.
