Dhirubhai Ambani International School produced another impressive all-round showing and recorded a comfortable 36-run victory against Gopi Birla Memorial School in a semi-final match of the inaugural Bombay Gymkhana Inter-School T20 Cricket Tournament, played under floodlights at the Gymkhana’s ground late Tuesday evening.
Taher Kudrati who cracked an unbeaten half century knock of 54 runs and Arhan Maker who picked 4 wickets for 10 runs were the shining stars in Dhirubhai Ambani’s victory.
Deciding to bat first, Dhirubhai Ambani managed to amass a total of 133 for the loss of four wickets from their stipulated 20 overs. Taher, who had scored 88 runs in the first match, once again batted solidly to lift the Dhirubhai Ambani innings, while teammate Abhiviraj Goel contributed 25 useful runs.
In response, Gopi Birla struggled in the chase as they found it difficult to bat against the Dhirubhai Ambani bowling attack and lost wickets at regular intervals and were dismissed for 97 in 19.2 overs. Gopi Birla’s batsman Aadit Shah was the top-scorer with 23 runs.
Brief scores: Dhirubhai Ambani International School 133 for 4 in 20 overs (Taher Kudrati 54*, Abhiviraj Goel 25) beat Gopi Birla Memorial School 97 all out in 19.2 overs (Aadit Shah 23, Arhan Maker 4 for 10) by 36 runs.
