Bhoir and Parkar shine in Karnatak SA second win


 

Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) marched to their second successive win recording a thumping 178-run victory against Islam Gymkhana on the second day of their two-day Group-A league match of the Eagle Thane Strikers sponsored 72nd Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2019, and played at the Karnatak SA ground, Cross Maidan on Sunday.

Karnatak SA who had finished the first day at 242 for 4 wickets in 57 overs went to amass a massive score of 371 for the los of 5 wickets in their stipulated 70 overs first innings. The overnight unbeaten batsmen Vinayak Bhoir (batting 96) and Akash Parkar (batting 81) continued to dominate the Islam Gymkhana bowlers and completed their centuries as they were associated in a 244 runs fifth wicket partnership from just 215 balls. Parkar made 109 runs (146 balls, 11×4) while Bhoir was unconquered on 192 runs (135 ball, 19×4, 9×6) to enable Karnatak SA set Islam Gymkhana a challenging target.

 

Islam Gymkhana batsmen failed to put up much of fight and were dismissed for 193 in 50.4 overs. Hashir Dafedar top-scored with 68 runs and Usama Parkar scored a unbeaten 45 runs. Karnatak SA bowlers Tanush Kotian (3 for 17) and Vidyadhar Kamath (3 for 37) got the wickets.
