The formidable outfit Indian Oil Corporation and strong challengers Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG), both from New Delhi will be the star attractions during the 15th All India Guru Tegh Bahadur Gold Cup Hockey Tournament 2019, organized by the Mumbai Hockey Association Limited and which is set to commence at the MHAL stadium, Churchgate from November 29 to December 7, 2019.
A total of eight teams, including from Mumbai will be fighting it out for the top honours in this prestigious tournament.
Besides Indian Oil and CAG the other six teams are Food Corporation of India, Pune, Hockey Family Badhkhalsa, Haryana and four local outfirts Bombay Republicans, Maharashtra State Police, Mumbai Customs and Union Bank of India.
The four teams have been divided into two groups of four teams and will play on a round-robin league basis initially. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on Friday, December 6 and the finals are scheduled to be played on Saturday, December 7.
The Groupings:
Group-A: Indian Oil Corporation, New Delhi, Food Corporation of India, Pune, Bombay Republicans, Mumbai, Maharashtra State Police, Mumbai.
Group-B: Comptroller & Auditor General of India, New Delhi, Mumbai Customs, Mumbai, Hockey Family Badhkhalsa, Haryana, Union Bank of India, Mumbai.
