Jai Bharat, Karnatak SC score contrasting wins

Jai Bharat SC and Karnatak SC recorded contrasting victories in the respective first round matches of the 13th Late Adv. A.R. Kudrolli Memorial knockout football tournament, organized by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.

 

In a tense and exciting match, Jai Bharat managed to scrape past Shree Krishna SC by a close 3-2 margin and later in a one-sided encounter, Karnatak SC completely dominated the match to defeat Jawahar Young Boys SC by a fluent 5-1 margin.

 

Jai Bharat scored through Hitesh Bangera, Rashid Shaikh and Samuel Damor to snatch the win while (Ramesh Basaraj and Gaurav Devadiga scored a goal each for Shree Krishna SC.

 

Karnatak SC dictated terms from the start and got their through Ayush Shetty and Valentine Pereira, both striking two goals each and Marvin Pereira struck one to complete the winning margin, while Jawahar Young Boys pulled one back through Vinod Vade’s efforts.

 

In the third match, Judon D’Souza scored the crucial winning goal to steer Bombay Fort SC to a narrow 1-0 win against Star of Canara SC.

 

Results (1st round): Jai Bharat SC 3 (Hitesh Bangera, Rashid Shaikh, Samuel Damor) beat Shree Krishna SC 2 (Ramesh Basaraj, Gaurav Devadiga).

 

Karnatak SC 5 (Ayush Shetty 2, Valentine Pereira 2, Marvin Pereira) beat  Jawahar Young Boys SC 1 (Vinod Vade).

 

Bombay Fort SC 1(Judon D’Souza) beat Star of Canara SC 0.
