Star-studded Central Railway were at their aggressive best while quelling the challenge of PM Hindu Bath 12-8 in their second tie in the annual 8-Team YMCA Waterpolo League -2019, held At YMCA Swimming Pool, Agripada, last night. Later, they had another fruitful outing when they outplayed Reliance’s junior string 12-5 to record their second win in three outings.
Fancied Central, who were upset by Maharashtra Police in their opening tie, put up dominating show tonight, as they dominated right through and hardly gave their opponents any leeway in both of their ties. Uday Uttekar played a leading role in both the matches, scoring five goals against Hindu Bath and four against Reliance. Apart from Uday, Devendra Joshi , Nimish Nizampurtkar and Anand also added to their impressive victories.
Meanwhile, the defending champions Western Railway maintained their unbeaten record as they drubbed MGMO 11-1 and followed it by blanking out Reliance 10-0. For a change Maharashtra Police, who had opened their campaign with a shock win over Central Railway, were at the receiving end against Pune’s Deccan Gymkhana, who triumphed 11-4.
