Easy for Saket,Soham and Ishika


MSSA Inter School Table Tennis Tournament

Saket Sahasrabuddhe of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya , Soham Mate of Orion High School and Ishika Punjabi of Dhirubhai Ambani School cleared their three rounds with ease in their respective individual age groups on the second day of the Mumbai School Sports Association’s Inter School tournament at Prabodhankar Thackeray Kreeda Sankul, Vile Parle.

With not many surprises noticed today, most of the favourite players advanced into higher rounds without much effort. In the morning session, among the girls, Ishika Punjabi in the Under -12 Girls section impressed the most with her successive straight games win in the 2nd and 3rd round respectively over Urjita Patil and Tanushree Raut. Though Tanushree lost in straight games, she had put up some resistance  against her most consistent opponent. Tanushree had earlier had a tough encounter against  Uneysah Agboalwala in the first round but scored a straight games win over Maitri Taparia.

In the Boys’ Under 14 section third round  Soham Mate  struggled to beat Tanmay Rao. Soham lost the first game over extra points, but recovered soon to snatch next two games to clear his 3rd round. Soham had earlier beaten Harsheet bansal in straight games. Saket Sahasrbuddhe also proved his class with his consistent top spin attack while clearing all his three rounds, when he defeated Bhavya Manpora and Pratham Balebail.   Both Saket and Soham re trained by Naveen Verghese at   Stag- PTKS  TT academy. Another Under 14 player Manav Modi also had easy sailing through his three rounds.

The Girls 16 section also saw easy victories by favourite plyers.  Pradhi Potnis scored straight games win over Tripti Ladha in the 3rd round. Tripti had earlier struggled to beat Avishi Sawlani , when she dropped a game. In another Girls Under 16 match Aditi Kochar who had a tough time against Pooja Gupta in second round lost to Rucha Rao in straight games  in 3rd round . Krisha jain also had easy third round match against Aaditi Mayekar in this section.
