Skipper Mhasi Paunuo perfectly played the lead role scoring four goals to power Samuel Football Academy, Mumbai to a thumping 9-0 win against Commondos FC, Pune in a Group-B match of the 2nd WIFA Women’s Football League 2019-2020, and played at the Cooperage ground on Wednesday, Samuel FA enjoyed a solid 4-0 half-time lead.
Mhasi received good support from teammate Y. Poojitha who struck three goals, while Poornima Gehlot and Priya Shinde chipped in with a goal each to complete the margin of victory.
Earlier, Spark FC, Mumbai rallied to share homours with Pacangan FC, Satara as they played out a 1-1 draw in a keenly contested Group-B encounter. Pacangan striker Snehal Ghadge found the back of the net in the 21st minute to give her team a slender 1-0 half-time lead. Spark FC scored the equalizer immediately on resumption with Rhea Rodrigues scoring in the 48th minute.
Results – Group-B: Spark FC, Mumbai 1 (Rhea Rodrigues) drew with Pacangan FC, Satara 1 (Snehal Ghadge).
