Former TT player Ashok Sidhaye passes away at 90


Former national level Table tennis player and Coach Ashok Bhalchandra Sidhaye popularly known as Kaka in TT fraternity passed away yesterday . He was 90. He is survived by son Ajey  a former international TT player, daughter in law, daughter and other family members. He was not keeping well for sometime due to old age.

Ashok Sidhaye played few nationals and had served as Coach and manager of Maharashtra teams. He was also secretary of Maharashtra State Table tennis Association and Pune District TT Association. Later, he worked as Coach for many years at Club Maharashtra& at National Model School.

 

 

He was a Sports Editor for Marathi and English newspapers for a long time, prominent among them was Tarun Bharat newspaper. He also served as Local representative of then Hindustan Samachar.
