MSTTA and PTKS to host 3rd State Ranking Veterans TT on 19th and 20th Oct


Prabodhankar Thackeray Kreeda Sankul ( PTKS) Vile Parle has turned out to be  big hub for sports in Mumbai. With large number of young members, there  are various activities such as Gymnastics, Karate, Table Tennis , Swimming, shooting etc. going on throughout the year in full swing, under the leadership of Mr. Arwind Prabhu.  Now,  PTKS under the auspices of Maharashtra State table Tennis Association will host the 3rd State ranking Veterans Table Tennis Tournament at their well equipped Vile Parle east premises on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2019.PTKS poster

Elaborate arrangements are being made at the huge basement, where 10  TT tables can be easily accommodated to welcome 266 participants from men and Women’s sections in different age groups.  PTKS are  already running their PTKS-STAG  TT academy very successfully and therefore it is expected  that this tournament will receive very good spectator response.

This year, the TT tournament is being held in memory of late Jayshree Sampat wife of renowned veteran player Pinakin Sampat, who has also sponsored this tournament. Like last year, this year too,  organisers have decided to present  trophies to  the winners and runners up in all age groups and medals to losing semi finalists in men’s and women’s section . It will be for the first time in the State Ranking  TT Tournament, the live streaming of all matches played on Table no. 1 will be available on Youtube.com through Mobisportz.

This is the third year in a row, PTKS  will be hosting this tournament with Yogesh Desai and Sameer Bhate as  most efficient Organising secretaries . With Suhas Dandekar  on behalf of MSTTA  there to help with his technical team, this state ranking  tournament is sure to achieve a grand success. The top seedings   in different age groups available to magzmumbai are as follows : Manish Rawat ( Men’s 40+), Dr. Nitin Toshniwal ( Men’s 49+), Anil Rasam ( Men’s 59+),Yogesh Desai( Men’s 64+), Pinakin Smpat ( Men’s 69+), A.S. Shaikh ( Men’s 74+), Sushma Mogre ( Women’s 39+), Dr. Anagha Joshi ( Women’s 49+).

Tams from all over Maharashtra will be taking part in team event, which will be played on Saturday in 40+ and 60+ categories. Other prominent players who will be participating in this tournament are, P.G.kelkar, Suhas Kulkarni, Mangal Saraf, Pankaj Rahane & Prasad Naik.

Match Schedule for Saturday :

9 am : Team matches for both 40+ and 60+ section .

3 pm : Men’s 50+ individual Singles

6 pm: Men’s 40+ Individual Singles
