Possa fine hat-trick powers United Villagers into final

 

United Villagers Welfare Association (UVWA) produced a strong second half performance scoring three goals and charge to a 4-1 win against Young Guns FC in a First Division semi-final match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra. The match was locked 1-1 at the end of the first 40-minute period.

The hero of United Vilagers’ victory was striker Brijal Possa who notched up a fine hat-trick, while Yeona Bhandari netted the fourth goal, while Dhruv Hegde scored the lone goal for the losers.

 

United Villagers opened the scoring with Possa finding the net in the 12th minute. But, Young Guns quickly responded by scoring the equalizer through Hedge in the 17th minute to level the scores.

 

However after switching ends, United Villagers showed more intent and were dominant to quell the fight from Young Guns. Possa scored his and the team’s second goal in the fourth minute on resumption before Bhandari struck the third goal in the 48th minute to give United Villagers a 3-1 lead. Seven minutes later, Possa was again on target to complete his hat-trick and the team’s victory margin.
