Rohan Jain of Mandpeshwar Civic Federation (MCF) Gymkhana scored a hard-fought win against Krishnan Vora of Otters Club clinching a tight 2-1 victory in the best-of-3-frame Junior Snooker pre-quarter-final match of the BSAM organized Maharashtra State Junior Snooker and Senior Snooker & Billiards Selection (leg 1) Championship – 2019, played at the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana billiards room on Sunday.
Both Rohan and Krishnan were locked in a tense tussle for supremacy before the former managed to show better nerves and managed to come through winning in three closely contested frames at 39-37, 47-62 and 57-43 to advance to the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Bhiwandi cueist Khushit Shah comfortably defeated Park Club’s Ameya Sankhala 2-0 (55-23, 54-21) in another last 16 encounter.
Pune youngster Rohit Rawat proved too good for Jayraj S. Amane of Chembur Gymkhana and charged to an easy 2-0 (66-10, 65-06) win while Khar Gymkhana’s Siddharth Mody defeated Danish Shaikh o Vasai 2-0 (61-26, 62-32) in other pre-quarter-final matches.
