10-man Challenger FC go down fighting


 

A 10-man Challenger FC produced a spirited fighting performance but went down fighting by conceding a late goal to suffer a 0-1 defeat at the hands of ND2 Soccer Starz in a well-contested Group-B match of the 4th Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL) – 2019, organized under the auspices of MDFA by the Borivali Sports Foundation and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivali (West).

The Challenger despite playing with one player less, put up a resolute defence but also managed to create a series of chances which they failed to convert. They seemed to tire towards the final moments and Soccer Starz took advantage of the situation and from a last-ditch effort managed to score the winning goal through Vicky Shah’s efforts.

 

In another match of the same grouo, Myrmidons Sporting Club and Gorai FC shared honours as they were engaged in an exciting 2-2 draw. Strikers Mithlesh Kasare and Wayne Trinidade were bang on target with a goal each for Myrmidons while Gorai FC scored through Mandar Kurlekar and Niraj Bhandari as the team shared two points.

 

Results – Group-B: ND2 Soccer Starz 1 (Vicky Shah) beat Challenger FC 0.

 

Myrmidons Sporting Club 2 (Mithlesh Kasare, Wayne Trinidade) drew with Gorai FC 2 (Mandar Kurlekar, Niraj Bhandari).
