Maharashtra’s Rohit Kadam was made to sweat hard by UP’s Saurabh Kumar before he advanced into men’s quarterfinals of the GSC-All India squash Open,hosted by Goregaon Sports Club, here today. Rohit led 2-0 before Saurabh put up terrific fight to take the third game only to lose the next meekili. Rohit triumphed 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6.

Deepak Tiwari put up plucky fight against Abhishek Agarwal before the second seeded won 11-8, 11-9, 11-8. Another Maharashtra boy Aishwary Singh dropped the first game before he ousted his state-mate Pradeep Amar Singh 5-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6. While in the boys under-19, Delhi’s Jaideep Singh battled past West Bengal’s Sampuran Baneree before making the last eight grade with a 11-7, 11-0, 11-13, 11-7 win.
In the men over 35, both Amit Gajna and Rahul Arora dropped their opening games before rallying to get the better of their respective rivals.
