Ayushmaan,Naisha march into quarters


 

Ayushmaan Arjeria of Madhya Pradesh and Naisha Srivastav of Karnataka continued with their impressive winning streak by comfortably cruising to victories in their respective boys’ and girls’ singles pre-quarter-final matches of the CCI 13th Ramesh Desai Memorial All India Nationals Under-16 Tennis Tournament 2019, organized by the Cricket Club of India and played at the CCI tennis courts on Wednesday.

Naisha Srivastav of Karnataka continued with her impressive form and tamed Uttar Pradesh’s Tanushri Pandey cruising to a fluent 6-4, 6-0 win in girls’ singles pre-quarter-final  match of the CCI 13th Ramesh Desai Memorial All India Nationals Under-16 Tennis Tournament 2019.

The MP lad Ayushmaan, who had taken down the top seed Udit Gogoi of Assam in the first round, came up with another strong performance to knockout Maharashtra’s 14th seed Yashraj Dalvi by recording a straight sets 6-3, 6-1 victory to seal his spot in the quarter-finals.

 

Meanwhile, Naisha seems to be gaining in confidence after her stunning straight sets second round defeat of Rajasthan’s second seed Renee Singh, as she powered her way past Uttar Pradesh’s Tanushri Pandey posting a fluent 6-4, 6-0 win without much ado and book her place in the last round.

 

In the quarter-finals, Naisha will clash with Maharashtra’s Bhumika Tripathi who overcame Delhi’s Jannat Anand in two sets at 6-2, 6-3.

 

Meanwhile, the top seed Sanjana Sirimalla of Telangana stormed into the quarter-finals with a quick win over Tamil Nadu’s S.R. Ananya (TN) by a 6-1, 6-3 scoreline.
